About Our School
Mosstowie School is a small country school with 68 pupils (Nov 2016) in three composite classes. It is situated approximately three and a half miles west of Elgin in an idyllic rural location between the adjoining communities of Miltonduff, Pluscarden and Mosstowie.
Pupils, staff, parents and friends in the local community are all proud to be a part of Mosstowie School and we work together in partnership to make it successful.
Mosstowie Primary School was built on its present site at the end of the last century and was originally a combined primary and secondary school. In 1962/63 the school was extended with the addition of two new classrooms, a hall and a staff room.
The present accommodation consists of three classrooms, a gym hall/dinner hall, a school office, a staff room and two smaller offices/teaching areas. A small library is incorporated into the hallway.
We have lots of space outside with large areas of tarmac, a grass pitch and an area of wild meadow and trees where several pieces of permanent play equipment are located.
We also have direct access to a fabulous area of woodland full of scots pine, rowan, silver birch and many other native trees.
